Cake, an alternative rock band from Sacramento, CA, is an institution that has been playing for decades now. The band formed in 1991 and members include singer/songwriter John McCrea, guitarist Xan McCurdy, trumpet player Vince DiFiore, bassist Gabe Nelson and drummer Paulo Baldi. They have multiple top hits, and continue to produce great music and tours.

Cake set a standard for its sound. It was a completely original sounds when it came out, and still nothing sounds quite like them. Cake’s style of music combines multiple genres. They have a unique sound with John McCrea’s droll half-spoken, half-sung lyrics being syncopated in a very fresh way. The band is also known for its simplistic yet catchy distorted guitar riffs, and trumpet solos throughout each song.
