Cat Power releases new album Sun on September 4th; hear new song “Ruin”

It’s been 6 years since we’ve had an official Cat Power album, not including the Jukebox covers records.  But the details have finally emerged concerning Chan Marshall’s official follow-up to 2006’s The GreatestSun, due out on Matador Records, is set to hit your local record store on the 4th of September. Marshall went solo as far as production and performance work over the course of these 11 tracks.  She even recorded some of the tracks in a studio she built in Malibu.

Take note vinylphiles. Details are sketchy, but forthcoming, regarding a deluxe vinyl edition of the album.
