Breaking Bad Season One

If you are a sucker for actual good television, then you are as excited as I am that Season One of Breaking Bad is coming out on DVD and iTunes tomorrow!

Season One came out around the same time as Season One of Mad Men, another great show. However, since we’ve already gotten a Season Two of Man Men on A&E, I had frightfully assumed that Breaking Bad had been canceled. However, that is delightfully not the case! Walter White and co. will be joining our TV sets once again on March 3 for a new season. So I don’t have to add it to my list of shows that should have never been canceled after all! (Current list includes: Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, The Book of Daniel, Dead Like Me, Dirt, Aliens in America, etc.)

Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family’s financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White’s releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

Be sure to check out a couple of clips from the show after the jump. Hopefully we might even have a copy of Season One to give away soon, so keep checking back with us!
